Description

A state-of-the-art vessel, RV PolarXplorer, was completely refit during 2015 - 2021. New interior and all systems refurbished, providing maximum safety and comfort. With a lower aft deck, heavy lifting cranes allow for safe launching of Tenders even in heavy seas. Total rebuild in 2015 for DKK 85 million, approx. Euro 11.5 million. We sold this vessel in 2014 on behalf of the Royal Norwegian Navy to Denmark. The vessel is in an unbelievable condition and looks like new.
The vessel was the major diving and ROV vessel for the Norwegian defence.

KNM "Tyr" (N50) had the status of one of the Navy's most unique tools. As a special vessel for deep underwater operations, remotely operated underwater vehicles (ROV) and submarine rescue, the ship was repeatedly called in when something difficult or historically important was to be found on the seabed. Until she was phased out, "Tyr" managed to be behind some of the most sensational wreck finds in modern Norwegian naval history.
